Submitting Material to Charisma Studios

In order to avoid unnecessary charges for the consumer [this means you] a set of guidelines has been introduced to facilitate the transfer of information and materials to our studio.

Please follow the instructions listed below and we will do our best to make building your new project an easy task.

Step 1

Step 1Login to your control panel using the username and password you were provided when you opened your account.

Step 2

Step 2Go to the panel marked 'Files' and click on the button called 'File Manager'. A dialog box will open and you should select 'Document Root For: yourdomain.com" and check off the box marked "Skip this question..." as this is the only folder that you should ever need to access.

Step 3

Step 3Now that you are in the File Manager you will notice a folder in the right pane marked "charisma". Open this folder by double clicking on the folder icon in front of the word 'charisma' and you will see an empty folder

Step 4

Step 4You may now click on the Upload" icon in the upper left portion of the screen and begin to upload your materials [documents / images] to the server.  It is often easier to organize all of the files on your computer and then create one .zip file and upload it to the server.

Step 5

Step 5Once you have finished uploading your material to the server you should send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to inform us. Now we can go into the folder and get the required material for your site. If there are any issues with the submitted materials we will contact you to discuss them prior to working on the project.

Format for Submitted Material

When submitting text or images to the studio please ensure that they are in the proper format and that you have either the rights or permissions to use the material.

Images

  • ImagesCan be submitted in either jpg, gif, png, bmp, or pdf formats.  Please ensure that they are:
    • Properly named in lowercase and not containing any spaces.
    • Denote their desired location on the site [eg.: about-us-image1.jpg, homepage-image2.png, etc... ].
    • Large enough to be used for the site [ie. do NOT send an image that is 150px x 150px that needs to be used in a space that requires a 340px x 400px image].

Enlargement of images and changes in aspect ratio will severely degrade the image being used and you will not be impressed with the final outcome.  For best results use High Resolution images [300 dpi or greater] and supply them in the same size format or even a larger format than may be required.

Documents

  • Documents:  Text destined for web pages will ONLY be accepted in .txt format [Notepad or Wordpad] and must be sent in separate files that are clearly named with the title of the Article [eg. about-us.txt, contact-info.txt, homepage.txt, etc...].  Please make sure that you use a spell-checker to verify your text prior to uploading it to the server as we do not edit your text in any way.

Documents meant to be attachments must be sent in pdf format.  If you are not capable of sending in pdf format then another format may be submitted but a small fee will be applied for proper file conversion.  We suggest that you use the 'File Conversion" utility on our site to create the pdf.
  • Maintenance of your website should never end

Maintaining a website is just as important as building it in the first place! Unfortunately, most people put much more effort into the initial design and launch of a site than they do in keeping the content fresh and keeping the site growing to best serve all visitors.

It is imperative that you maintain a commitment to posting accurate, timely information online. If people who visit your site find that the information never changes, they will stop accessing it.
